Kori Bustard

PROFILE:

The kori bustard is the heaviest flying bird in Africa. It usually runs from danger rather than flying from it. It is an omnivore with some unusual eating habits such as eating the gum from the acacia tree, which may have bugs trapped in it. The kori bustard is also drawn to bush fires, where it will eat the insects that did not survive the fire.
