Every experience offers guided tours of the Zoo, animal encounters, and themed activities that create an inclusive and educational environment for all families to enjoy. Homeschool Day

Date: March 4, 2024

Cost: $10 per person / free for Dallas Zoo Members

Calling all young explorers and curious minds! Join us for an exciting adventure as we trek across Texas biomes during Homeschool day. Explore how our very own backyard mirrors four out of the five biomes found across the globe. From arid deserts to lush forests, uncover the fascinating ecosystems right here in Texas.

The Dallas Zoo welcomes families to explore the Zoo without the noise, crowds, and stimulation of a typical day. We will have modifications in place at Destination: Dinosaurs Presented by Reliant for visitors to explore and meet our prehistoric friends.

3 to 8 years

WildLife Heroes Club

Dates: Feb. 18 – April 7 *

Time: 9-10:30 a.m.

Cost: $170 per child / $150 for Dallas Zoo Members

Children (3 to 8 years) and their parents will meet once a week to forge a connection with nature and each other. Zoo habitat observations, close-up animal interactions, hands-on illustrative activities, and conservation-related take-home journals provide opportunities for young children and their adults to build environmental consciousness while collaborating with others who share their interests.

10 months to 35 months

Stroller Buddies

Dates: Wednesdays | Feb. 21 – April 3 *

Saturdays | Feb. 17 – April 6 *

Time: 9-10:30 a.m.

Cost: $170 per child / $150 for Dallas Zoo Members

Toddlers (10 months to 35 months) and their caregivers will love this 6-week Education Program designed to strengthen their attachment to one another while taking their first steps to connect and learn about nature. Options are Wednesdays or Saturdays for your adventure.

3 to 5 years

Friday Safari

Dates: Feb. 9 – May 10 *

Time: 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

Cost: $500 per child / $450 for Dallas Zoo Members

Preschoolers (3 to 5 years) are welcome to this drop-off Education Program. Each Friday for 13 weeks, preschoolers can explore the Zoo with our instructors and learn about the world around them through stories, observations, animal interactions, and play.

Thursday Safari

Dates: Feb. 8 – May 9 *

Time: 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

5-8 years | $500 per child / $450 for Dallas Zoo Members

New! 9-12 years | $550 per child / $495 for Dallas Zoo Members

School-aged students are grouped by age in this Thursday drop-off Education Program. The younger class (5-8 years) will explore the Zoo through art, STEM activities, and active games. The older class (9-12 years) will explore wildlife conservation through STEM project-based learning.

Education program participants in drop-off programs must be completely toilet trained (meaning not wearing pull-ups, able to manage his/her own clothing, and not requiring assistance in the bathroom). 

Cancellation & Refund Policy
All education program sales are final. No refunds will be given for cancelled reservations or withdrawals. An education program credit may be issued based on circumstance. Credit will not be issued for cancellations made within 48 hours of start date or for no-shows. All programs will take place rain or shine. The Dallas Zoo reserves the right to cancel or change any program for reasons we deem appropriate. In the event that we cancel your program, a credit will be issued and individuals will be contacted directly.
