Explore the wonders of the natural world

Where

Ages

18 yrs & up

Your Dallas Zoo’s Wild Earth Action Team is setting off on expeditions to explore the wonders of the natural world, all while supporting local communities, and learning how we can protect a Wild Earth. Join us as we hike mountains to visit Monarch butterflies in Mexico, take a boat ride to witness Whooping cranes on the Texas coast, and so much more.

What to expect:

Whether we’re in the United States, Mexico, or somewhere else in the world, we’ll mindfully and responsibly travel to natural areas by minimizing our impact and supporting local communities.

What to wear:

Earth is home to a variety of ecosystems, so it’s important to be prepared for anything. We recommend packing clothing you can layer and comfortable walking shoes. A detailed packing list will be emailed to participants prior to departure.

Monarchs of Mexico

One of the most amazing phenomena in nature is the annual migration of millions of Monarch butterflies southward from their breeding grounds in the United States and Canada to overwintering sites high in the mountains of southern Mexico.
