SPRING AT THE ZOO

Spring is a wonderful time to visit the Dallas Zoo, but it also means the Zoo is busier than usual. Don’t worry – we’ve gathered some helpful tips to ensure you make the most of your visit.

Book your tickets online

  • Purchase your tickets online and remember to plan your arrival during the entry timeslot indicated on your tickets. This will help regulate lines and control traffic flow at the entry gates.

parking at the zoo

  • Parking is limited
We may be the largest Zoo in Texas, but our parking is limited, especially during our busy spring days! On these days, Dallas Police officers will be onsite working with our staff to direct traffic, ensuring guests move into one of our parking lots as quickly as possible.
  • Purchase parking at admission booths
On busy days, we may turn off advance sales of parking – don’t be alarmed, you can purchase parking at the admission booths once you arrive at the Zoo. Parking is $12 for non-members and free for members. Explore our options on the parking map here.
  • Take the DART
Looking to avoid traffic altogether? Skip the driving and take the DART Red Line which drops you at a station right across from our front gates. DART Park & Ride lots are a great option too!

Save a screenshot of the Zoo map

  • Take a screenshot of our map on your phone before arriving, so you can easily navigate to see your favorite animals. Open the Map.

Plan Your day

  • Make sure to check out our Today at the Zoo board when you arrive! With so much to see and do, it’s your go-to guide for special experiences and animal encounters happening throughout the day. Explore our experiences.

Dining Options

  • Snacks and restaurants
Take a break and treat yourself to a meal or grab a quick snack on the go at one of our restaurants or snack stands throughout the Zoo. Take a look at the offerings here.
  • Pack a picnic
You can bring your own food and drinks to the Zoo. Please note that glass items, alcoholic beverages, and single-use disposable straws are not permitted. Picnic tables and benches are available throughout the Zoo.
