Prime Meridian Cafe

The Prime Meridian Café is in the heart of ZooNorth, next to the The Grove. This café includes ample indoor seating, with tables on an outdoor deck that overlooks the flamingo pond. Food options include sandwiches, salads, burgers, pizza, Farmer Brothers Coffee, and more. Eaters with dietary restrictions will find gluten-free, low-carb and vegetarian options. Don’t forget to pick up a reusable conservation cup featuring zoo animals and facts — it can be refilled for a discount at many Zoo restaurants!

**Outdoor seating only** Gourmet burgers, kids’ meals, salads & chicken tenders. Eat with the lions in the Giants of the Savanna! Peer into the lions’ den through the floor-to-ceiling observation window while you’re dining on gourmet burgers and fries. An outdoor seating area overlooks the elephants in the Giants of the Savanna. Find the Serengeti Grill midway through the Giants of the Savanna.

Bantu Barbeque

Bantu Barbeque is open seasonally and serves up authentic Texas barbecue. All of our meats are flavored with our own house made seasoning and are slow-smoked with local hardwood. This walk-up food stand, with all outdoor seating, also feature traditional side to complete your BBQ meal, along with draft beer and fresh brewed iced sweet tea! Bantu Barbeque is located across the Wilds of Africa Plaza from the Wild Encounters Stage.

Other Options

We have several snack stands throughout the Zoo where you can purchase things like ice cream, pretzels, Dippin’ Dots, cotton candy, popcorn, sodas, beer, and more! There’s also Coop on the Fly food truck in ZooNorth near the Craft Beer Garden that serves up some amazing fried chicken and is open seasonally.

Pack a Picnic! You may bring your own food and drinks, although glass items, alcoholic beverages, and lightweight, single-use straws are not permitted for the safety of our animals. Picnic tables and benches are available throughout the Zoo. Please keep in mind that no facilities are available for food or cooler storage.
