Prime Meridian Cafe

The Prime Meridian Café is in the heart of ZooNorth, next to the The Grove. This café includes ample indoor seating, with tables on an outdoor deck that overlooks the flamingo pond. Food options include sandwiches, salads, burgers, pizza, Farmer Brothers Coffee, and more. Eaters with dietary restrictions will find gluten-free, low-carb and vegetarian options. Don’t forget to pick up a reusable conservation cup featuring zoo animals and facts — it can be refilled for a discount at many Zoo restaurants!

Gourmet burgers, kids’ meals, salads & chicken tenders. Eat with the lions in the Giants of the Savanna! Peer into the lions’ den through the floor-to-ceiling observation window while you’re dining on gourmet burgers and fries. An outdoor seating area overlooks the elephants in the Giants of the Savanna. Find the Serengeti Grill midway through the Giants of the Savanna.

Safari Marketplace

Located in the Wilds of Africa Plaza, the Zoo’s newest spot, Safari Marketplace, offers a wide variety of bites and sips. From house-smoked traditional Texas barbecue to fair favorites like fried PB&Js, fried Oreos, and funnel cakes, there’s something to satisfy everyone’s cravings. Take a break and enjoy a meal in our new dining hub, with all outdoor seating, before you journey out to see our hungry hippos.

Other Options

We have several snack stands throughout the Zoo where you can purchase things like ice cream, pretzels, Dippin’ Dots, cotton candy, popcorn, sodas, beer, and more!

Pack a Picnic! You may bring your own food and drinks, although glass items, alcoholic beverages, and lightweight, single-use straws are not permitted for the safety of our animals. Picnic tables and benches are available throughout the Zoo. Please keep in mind that no facilities are available for food or cooler storage.
