Families can find adventures that fit their needs and schedules in our popular spring and fall Education Programs. Every experience offers guided tours of the Zoo, animal encounters, and themed activities that create an inclusive and educational environment for all families to enjoy. 10–35 months

Stroller Buddies

Toddlers (10–35 months) and their caregivers will love this six-week Education Program designed to strengthen their attachment to one another while taking their first steps to connect to and learn about nature.

Dates: Wednesdays | Oct. 22, 29, Nov. 5, 12, 19, Dec. 3

Saturdays | Oct. 25, Nov. 1, 8, 15, 22, Dec. 6

Time: 9-10:30 a.m.

3–8 years

WildLife Heroes Club

Children (3–8 years) and their parents connect with nature through weekly sessions featuring animal encounters, habitat exploration, hands-on activities, and conservation-related take-home journals to build environmental consciousness while collaborating with others who share their interests.

Time: 9-10:30 a.m.

Sensory Friendly Morning

Families are invited to Sensory Friendly events at the Dallas Zoo for a calm, welcoming experience with smaller crowds and limited noise and to participate in an inclusive day designed for all ages.

Date: Oct. 26, 2025

Time: 8–11 a.m.

Cost: $12 per person / Free for Dallas Zoo Members

Three Events a year

Sensory Friendly Night

Families are invited to enjoy Dallas Zoo Lights with sensory-friendly activities, calm environments, and a special chance to meet Santa Claus.

Date: January 5, 2026

Time: 5:30–9 p.m.

Cost: $19 adult / $15 youth  ($15 adult / $11 youth for Dallas Zoo Members)

Thursday Safari

Preschoolers (3-5 years) are welcome to this drop-off Education Program. Each Friday for 13 weeks, preschoolers can explore the Zoo with our instructors and learn about the world around them through stories, observations, animal encounters, and play. (Skips Thanksgiving week)

Homeschool Day

Homeschoolers of all ages and their families are invited to the Dallas Zoo throughout the year for a day of discovery, exciting hands-on learning experiences, and unique opportunities to connect with wildlife in a fun and educational environment.

Required
Education program participants in drop-off programs must be completely toilet trained (meaning not wearing pull-ups, able to manage his/her own clothing, and not requiring assistance in the bathroom). 

Cancellation & Refund Policy
All education program sales are final. No refunds will be given for cancelled reservations or withdrawals. An education program credit may be issued based on circumstance. Credit will not be issued for cancellations made within 48 hours of start date or for no-shows. All programs will take place rain or shine. The Dallas Zoo reserves the right to cancel or change any program for reasons we deem appropriate. In the event that we cancel your program, a credit will be issued and individuals will be contacted directly.
