Getting to the Zoo

The Dallas Zoo is located three miles south of downtown Dallas, on the I-35 frontage road between Marsalis Ave. and Ewing Ave.

Directions to the Dallas Zoo

Heading Southbound on I-35

  • Take the Ewing Ave./Marsalis Ave. exit (426).
  • Go through the light at Ewing Ave., get in the left lane and use the new U-turn for easy access to the I-35 northbound frontage road.
  • The entrance to the Zoo is to your right, just after the giant giraffe!

Heading Northbound on I-35

  • Take the 12th Ave./Marsalis Ave. exit (425C), look for it just before you get to Beckley Ave. overpass.
  • Stay on the northbound frontage road for approx. 1 mile.
  • Once you pass through the light at Marsalis Ave., the entrance to the Zoo is to your right, just after the giant giraffe!

Directions to Halperin Park

I-35 Southbound and Northbound:

  • Take the combined Ewing Ave./Marsalis Ave. exit if you’re headed southbound or northbound on I-35 — it is clearly marked and includes signage directing you to the Dallas Zoo!
  • Go through the light at Ewing Ave. or Marsalis Ave. depending on your route.
  • Halperin Park is located directly ahead of you, across from the Zoo.

Plan Ahead:

  • Self-parking is available in the Dallas Zoo parking garage from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Additional surface lot parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis at the Dallas Zoo’s main entrance.
  • Ride share services or the DART Red Line are strongly encouraged.
