Dallas Zoo’s popular evening concert series Safari Nights Presented by Reliant kicks off April 27

Enjoy live bands, animal encounters, dinosaurs, and more for 11 consecutive Saturday nights

DALLAS (April 25, 2019) – The wildest evening concert series to hit North Texas is back for its seventh season – Safari Nights Presented by Reliant launches April 27 and runs every Saturday night until July 6.

Some of North Texas’ best original songwriters and jam-worthy tribute bands will deliver the perfect blend of nature and live music on shady Cat Green for 11 consecutive Saturday nights. The live music and additional activities are included with general zoo admission, allowing guests to enjoy the zoo during the day, and stay for the entertainment at night.

New this year, guests can experience Dinos at the Dallas Zoo during Safari Nights Presented by Reliant. Stroll through prehistoric Picnic Ridge and get up close with more than 24 larger-than-life animatronic dinosaurs and enjoy dinosaur-themed activities.

Guests can check out some of the zoo’s biggest stars before the bands start to rock. Pre-concert activities begin at 5 p.m. and include special keeper chats; the 20-minute interactive DinoSOAR show presented by Kimberly-Clark Corporation; meeting animal ambassadors up close; and some animal habitats will be open after hours.

Guests are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs to enjoy the concert. Adirondack chairs are available to rent at the zoo or bigger parties can reserve a six-person cabana complete with chairs, fans, and water. Food truck fare and sweet treats are available for purchase, along with cold craft beer, wine, and soft drinks.

Safari Nights Presented by Reliant is always free for members, and the evening entertainment is included with non-members’ paid zoo admission—$17 for ages 12-64; $14 for ages 3-11 and seniors; and free for children under 2.

Guests can enjoy the zoo all day—gates are open from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. on Saturdays during Safari Nights. Parking is $10 per vehicle (free for members). To avoid traffic, take the DART Red Line to Dallas Zoo Station for curbside service.
