July 6 - July 14
July is here, and it’s time to celebrate some unsung heroes, African vultures. Vultures are nature’s clean-up crew and while that’s not the most glamorous job, it’s one that’s vital to our environment! Vultures consume carrion (dead animals) and keep these carcasses from spreading harmful diseases like rabies, cholera, anthrax not only to wildlife and ecosystems, but the human population as well. Under siege from pollution and poison, some species have declined by 99% over the last 20 years.
Our goal is to raise $15k this week to support vulture conservation! But we need your help. Here’s how you can get involved:
• Stop by our Saving Vultures Campaign Station to take a pledge for pro-wildlife behaviors that benefit vultures.
• Pick up some vulture swag too, like custom-designed t-shirts, wristbands, stickers, and artwork, including rare paintings made by our vultures themselves.
• Choose to round up your purchase in the gift shop. This month, all round-up proceeds go straight to vulture conservation.
• Join us for a special VIP experience at the DinoSOAR Wildlife Show! For just $5, you’ll get reserved seating, a vulture wristband, and a photo op with one of our animals. Tickets will be available online here, or at the info booth at our front gates.
