Asian Small-clawed Otter


SCIENTIFIC NAME:
Aonyx cinerea
PROFILE:

The Asian small-clawed otter is a social animal, living in extended family groups of around 12 individuals. Within each group is an adult monogamous pair, with both parents contributing to raising their offspring. At the Dallas Zoo, it is not difficult to spot any of our individuals. They enjoy swimming, digging, grooming, and eating in the Betty Moroney Norsworthy Otter Outpost found in ZooNorth!
