Junior-Rancher-Adventure-FINAL-LogoWe’re “Texas proud” here at the Dallas Zoo, so we’re ready to rope you in for a special new behind-the-scenes experience designed just for children ages 3-8.

The Junior Rancher Adventure is a 75-minute experience with behind-the-scenes access in our Lacerte Family Children’s Zoo. You’ll dress up and practice your ranching skills; help animal keepers with their morning routines; and experience a special encounter with miniature longhorns. The life of a rancher is full of surprises! During your adventure, you might make toys for chickens, care for piglets, or play alongside Chaco the armadillo. As you help care for our residents, zookeepers will share special stories about these uniquely Texan animals.

The Adventure is offered Thursday-Sunday mornings at 9:15 a.m. (Participants must arrive promptly at 9 a.m.). Participants must be ages 3-8 and accompanied by an adult. There is a limit of two children per adult. Reservations must be made at least 48 hours before the event. The experience is limited to a small number of people daily, so make your reservations early to guarantee your choice of date.

Your Junior Rancher Adventure includes exclusive animal interactions facilitated by a zookeeper, a private meet-and-greet with our miniature longhorns, two seed sticks to feed residents in Travis & Zach’s Birds Landing, a special craft, and a souvenir cowboy hat.

Cost:
Dallas Zoo members: children $35, adults $15
(minimum of one adult for every two children required)
