Forest Wildlife Weekend

Join the Dallas Zoo in celebrating forests around the world, from your backyard to the immense rain forests of Africa and Asia.  Learn about ways the Zoo works to preserve forest habitats and the animals that inhabit them – and what you can do as well to help protect these fragile environments.

Activity stations will be located throughout the Zoo, where you’ll be able to make pledges to support forest inhabitants including gibbons, okapi, gorillas, the Virginia opossum, and the black-breasted leaf turtle.  You can make a difference by giving a “Thumbs Up for Wildlife” and posting a social media pledge to support conservation of forest habitats and species.  Help the Zoo log 2,000 pledges for this effort.

Community partners such as the Trinity Trust and the Texas Tree Foundation will be on hand to talk about ways local residents can support Dallas area forests.  In addition, there will be a mini reforestation project during the weekend event where guests can help plant trees at the Zoo.

Bring the family to discover more about how you can help save forests and the wildlife living in them around the world.  All event activities are free with general Zoo admission.
