Dallas Zoo among the nation’s Top 10

The Dallas Zoo has been named one of the Top 10 zoos in the U.S. by USA Today. The nation’s largest newspaper selected 20 national finalists, then enlisted the public’s help in ranking them through an online vote for its 10Best program. The Dallas Zoo tallied enough votes to earn the No. 9 spot.



Dallas Zoo’s ‘Daphne’ becomes oldest otter in U.S. to give birth

The Dallas Zoo is celebrating the successful birth and nurturing of a new Asian small-clawed otter pup. She was born Jan. 25, but needed more than 100 days of devoted care from her keepers, because single otter pups usually do not survive.

Pneumonia claims life of cheetah cub Kamau

The Dallas Zoo is devastated by the death this afternoon of 6-month-old cheetah cub Kamau (ka-MOWH) after a brief but severe respiratory illness.



Dallas Zoo offers a cool deal after another record-breaking year

The temperature is dropping and so is the price of admission to the Dallas Zoo. Throughout January and February, everyone age 3 and up can visit the African penguins (as well as all of the other animals) for just $5 per person.
