Celebrate the power of connection with nature at this year’s Fall Homeschool Day at the Dallas Zoo! Students will enjoy hands-on activities and hear stories from over 15 local education partners, while discovering how the Zoo and its partners collaborate to protect wildlife, support communities, and help our planet thrive through the voices of many.

  • Public: $12 | FREE for members
  • Parking: $14 | FREE for members
  • Children 2 and under are FREE
  • Pre-registration is required. The registration fee includes discounted admission to the Zoo and access to the activities listed below.

Event highlights:

  • Passports — Kick off your Homeschool Day adventure by picking up your Zoo Passport at the entrance! As you explore the Zoo, collect stamps at each stop while learning how the Dallas Zoo cares for wildlife — not just here in Dallas, but across the globe. From animal conservation to community support, every stamp tells a story of impact and connection.
  • Partner Tables — Visit our community partner booths to earn even more stamps through hands-on activities that celebrate diverse voices and shared stewardship. From wildlife conservation to cultural connection, every stop brings the theme to life: One World, Many Voices.
  • Wild Encounters Stage — Head to the Wild Encounters Stage to see a variety of animals up close. Schedule: 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m. *Wild Encounters Stage schedule is subject to change depending on animal comfort level and the weather.
  • Keeper Chats — Meet the experts! Discover fun facts and stories about your favorite Dallas Zoo animals from the zoologists who care for them. Keeper Chats are held outside of the corresponding animal habitat area. View schedules here.
  • Career Chats — Calling all middle schoolers and high school students! Join our Career Chats 15 minutes before each Keeper Chat to hear inspiring stories from zoologists about their journey into animal care and get tips on how to pursue a similar career.
  • Zoo Crew and Wild Adventures Camp — Looking for more ways to get involved? Explore our volunteer opportunities for students ages 13-17 and discover our exciting camps for K-8th graders — a great way to continue learning beyond your visits.
