Wild Walks

Guided School Tours

Take your students on a Wild learning adventure during your field trip to the Dallas Zoo! Wild Walks are a guided tour led by a Zoo educator and aligned with Science TEKS. Together we will observe animals, explore habitats, discover eco-system connections, and learn what we can do to save wildlife.

  • Monday – Friday Price: $150 per program (up to 20 participants)
  • Duration: 45 minutes
  • Dates: Available Monday – Friday
  • Times: 10:30 am, 11:30 am, and 12:30 pm

Wild Walk: Adaptations

Explore how animals use their adaptations to live in different habitats. We will observe a few Dallas Zoo animals and discuss how adaptations help them survive. 
Grade Level: 1st-8th

Wild Walk: Habitats

Join us for an investigation into how animals interact with their habitat and what it takes to meet the basic needs of animals. Observe zoo animals in a variety of habitats and discuss what makes each habitat unique.
Grade Level: 1st-2nd
TEKS: 1.2.A, 1.2.E, 1.10.A, 2.2.A, 2.9.A, 2.9.B, 2.9.C.

Wild Walk: Food Chains & Webs

Investigate how energy and living things are connected in the animal kingdom. Observe predators and prey, carnivores and herbivores, and discover the important roles they play in the food chain.
Grade Level: 1st-5th

Registration and cancellation policies:

Programs must be booked two (2) weeks in advance of program date.

Your reservation may be rescheduled once without penalty. Additional reschedules will be charged $25 per instance. Reschedule dates must be at least two (2) weeks in advance. Cancellations must be received in writing to Education@DallasZoo.com at least one (1) week prior to the date of your visit. For any cancellations made within one (1) week of the scheduled date, or for no-show groups, a $25 fee will be applied to your total balance due. Your school (and/or Big Thought if using LearningPartners funding) will be invoiced for the total reservation cost if you fail to show for your field trip/program or cancel within one (1) week of the scheduled date. We will do our best to accommodate late arrivals, but we reserve the right to cancel or adjust programs as needed. The Dallas Zoo reserves the right to change these policies without notice. Inclement Weather Policy: The Dallas Zoo is open rain or shine. Field trips and programs will be canceled if DISD is closed due to inclement weather. Rescheduling fees due to DISD closure will be waived.
