Offered on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday, 9:30-10:30 AM

Little ones and their parent participate in a 1-hour class which includes hands-on activities, interactive songs, live education animals, take home craft ideas, and active Zoo tours! Each week focuses on a new topic. Pre-registration is required.
Enroll in the 13-week series or individual classes. Registration is limited to 1 adult per child. Class size is 18 students. Registration forms and any requests for changes in enrollment must be received a minimum of 48 hours prior to the start of class.
Member price: $13/class or $156/series

NATURE TYKES: Ages 3 to young 4 year olds

Threes and young fours blossom in our Nature Tykes Preschool program! Classes include live education animal visitors, interactive songs, animal stories, games, art projects, math and literacy activities, Zoo tours, and group discussions. Each week focuses on a new topic. Pre-registration required.
Certified teachers provide a complete early childhood curriculum based on Texas TEKS, NAEYC curriculum guidelines, and goals of the Council for Environmental Education. Children will develop skills in language, literacy, phonemic awareness, creative arts, problem solving, critical thinking, mathematical skills, scientific thinking and observation, and cooperation and social skills.
Enroll in the 13-week series or individual classes. Class size is 18 students with 2 teachers. Registration forms and any requests for changes in enrollment must be received a minimum of 48 hours prior to the start of class.

A-ZOO PRESCHOOL SAFARI: Ages 4 to young 5 year olds

Travel through the animal alphabet during our popular “A to Zoo Preschool Safari” for 4 and young 5-year olds. Instructors lead an interactive class including live educational animals, Zoo tours, animal stories, games, art projects, math and literacy activities, and group discussions. Each week focuses on a new topic. Pre-registration required.

ANIMAL SAFETY AND HANDLING
Schedule changes may occur without notice. To ensure the safety of our animals, we cannot guarantee any individual animal nor class of animals. Just like people, animals sometimes have a bad day or are sick and not available. In such an event, classes will still take place and an appropriate alternative animal may be featured. There may be opportunities for children to safely touch selected educational animals in the classroom. Please note, however, the final decision will be at the sole discretion of the animal handler and based on many factors including animal safety, group size, and behavior.
Our Early Childhood slots are limited and fill quickly, contact us today for more information! Registration forms are processed in the order they are received with payment and can be submitted via e-mail, fax, or postal mail. Programs that have not met the minimum number of participants within two weeks of the scheduled program date may be cancelled. In the event that we cancel your program, a full refund will be issued and individuals will be contacted directly. You will be notified within five (5) working days of receipt of your registration if the program for which you registered for is full. If you cancel a program with the Dallas Zoo or Children’s Aquarium at Fair Park, a program credit may be issued based on circumstance. The credit may be used for any education program or camp at the Dallas Zoo or Children’s Aquarium at Fair Park. If you cancel enrollment due to topic and/or animal schedule changes, you will not receive a credit or refund.
