Prosimian TAG Husbandry Workshop and Meeting
The 2019 Prosimian TAG Husbandry Workshop will be held at the Dallas Zoo July 22-24. This is an excellent opportunity for animal care staff and mangers to network and share information on these unique species. Presenters include members of the Prosimian TAG Steering Committee, AZA Program Leaders, field conservation leaders and experienced professional AZA animal care staff. Topics will cover mixed species management, introductions, managing seasonal aggression, breeding, welfare, nutrition, veterinary care, nocturnal management, training and enrichment, conservation messaging and more.
July 22-24: Prosimian Keeper Workshop
July 24: Zoo Day, Happy Hour, and Silent Auction
Once the workshop concludes at 11 a.m., participants from both the Keeper Workshop and the PTAG meetings are invited to join us for behind-the-scenes tours and training demonstrations until 5 p.m. throughout the Zoo, ending with a happy hour at the Simmons Hippo Outpost. Happy Hour will also include a casual dinner, silent auction, and the opportunity to meet and mingle with all participants and the Primate Zoologists of the Dallas Zoo. This will be a full day worth experiencing!
