Dallas Zoo debuts schedule, announces Reliant as new sponsor for annual Safari Nights concert series

Live bands, entertainment, and special animal encounters highlight the schedule  each Saturday night at Safari Nights Presented by Reliant


DALLAS (April 16, 2018) – The Dallas Zoo’s popular Safari Nights concert series kicks off its sixth season on April 28, welcoming new bands to the lineup alongside old favorites, and debuting Reliant as the new presenting sponsor for the concert series.

Some of North Texas’ best original songwriters and jam-worthy tribute bands will deliver the perfect blend of nature and live music on shady Cat Green for 12 consecutive Saturday nights, April 28 through July 14. The live music and additional activities are included with general Zoo admission, allowing guests to enjoy the Zoo during the day, and stay for the entertainment at night.

The concert lineup, arranged through a partnership with The Kessler Theater in Oak Cliff, includes:

Reliant debuts as new Safari Nights sponsor

Reliant brings new energy to Safari Nights this year, extending its relationship with the Dallas Zoo and signing on as presenting sponsor for the concert series following the successful launch of Dallas Zoo Lights Presented by Reliant in 2017.

Guests can check out some of the zoo’s wildest stars before the bands start to rock on the Sprint Stage. Pre-concert activities begin at 5 p.m. and include special keeper chats; the 20-minute interactive Wonders of the Wild show presented by Kimberly-Clark Corp.; meeting animal ambassadors up close on Picnic Ridge; and some animal exhibits will be open after hours.

Guests are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs to enjoy the concert. Adirondack chairs are available to rent at the Zoo or bigger parties can reserve a six-person cabana complete with chairs, fans, and water. Food truck fare and sweet treats are available for purchase, along with cold craft beer, wine, and soft drinks.

Safari Nights Presented by Reliant is always free for members, and the evening entertainment is included with non-members’ paid zoo admission—$15 for ages 12-64; $12 for ages 3-11 and seniors; and free for children under 2.

Guests can enjoy the Zoo all day—gates are open from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. on Saturdays during Safari Nights. Parking is $10 per vehicle (free for members). To avoid traffic, take the DART Red Line to Dallas Zoo Station for curbside service.
