Make Your Voice Heard
URGENT: We Need Your Voice to Save Zoos Nationwide
We know everyone in our Dallas Zoo family is feeling the effects of the broad measures being taken to help stem the spread of COVID-19. But we need your voice to be heard all the way in Washington, D.C. right now on our behalf.
While other cultural institutions across the country are also in forced-shutdown mode, accredited zoos and aquariums are unique in that we all face ongoing expenses to continue to provide extraordinary care for our animals.
Without attendance revenue and the kinds of additional support that many non-profit organizations like ours rely on, we are and will continue to be in dire straits for many months to come.
Let policymakers know zoos need help
Right now, Congress and the White House are considering a multi-billion dollar fiscal rescue package to help address the severe economic and employment crisis caused by the coronavirus outbreak. Now is the time to ensure zoos and aquariums are not left out of that critical aid package.
Policymakers need to hear directly from you, letting them know it is important to their constituents that zoos and aquariums receive the support they need to emerge on the other side of this as strong as ever.
Time is of the essence, as these discussions are happening now and decisions are forthcoming. Zoos and aquariums CANNOT let be left out of this legislation.
Contact Your Federal Lawmakers Now
Please use THIS LINK to contact your federal lawmakers IMMEDIATELY to urge Congress and the White House to include $4 billion for Association of Zoos and Aquariums-accredited facilities in the COVID-19 relief and economic stimulus legislation. The webpage will have you provide your name and address, and then will allow you to send a pre-populated letter of support to your representatives.
We are asking for your help to speak with one loud voice in support of zoos and aquariums. And in support of the engaging, educational, inspiring, and species-saving work done by everyone on our teams, every day.
