WRITING SPECIALIST
We have an exceptional career opportunity for a Writing Specialist. The Writing Specialist will be responsible for researching and writing copy for a multitude of graphics projects, including ID signs, conservation graphics and brochures, and other supplemental materials. Other duties include bringing a consistent, engaging and educational message to interpretive graphics and other zoo projects. This position will also assist the Graphic Designer with other graphics needs, such as installing signs, building relationships with internal clients and outside vendors, and designing some graphics.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Journalism, or Zoology preferred.
At least one year experience writing educational materials for Zoo/Aquarium audience.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must have excellent proofreading and editing skills.
Must be energetic, team-oriented, and self-motivated.
Knowledge of Adobe CS4 software a plus (Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop).
Graphic design experience a plus.
Writing samples and portfolio required.
