Shed Your Winter Coat at the Dallas Zoo for those in need
Nov 27, 2013

Donated coats, blankets for The Stewpot
mean free admission to zoo on Saturday, Dec. 7 and Dec. 14

WHAT:
The Dallas Zoo’s annual “Shed Your Winter Coat” coat drive to benefit The Stewpot, a barrier-free resource center for the homeless and at-risk in Dallas. To show its appreciation to guests who donate coats, blankets, and sleeping bags, the Zoo will offer free admission for each item donated. Dallas Zoological Society (DZS) members who participate will receive a free guest admission ticket. And due to a potentially icy weather forecast on Dec. 7, the zoo will extend the coat drive to the following Saturday, Dec. 14, as well.

WHEN:
Saturday, Dec. 7, and Saturday, Dec. 14
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

WHERE:
Dallas Zoo
650 S. R.L. Thornton Freeway
Dallas, TX 75203

PRICES:
For each item donated, guests receive one free admission to the zoo.

WHY:
This annual event is part of the “Zoo Unto Others” program, established to give back to our community, whose support has been vital to the zoo’s success since 1888. Last year, more than 3,000 coats were collected for The Stewpot.
