May 25, 2010

Dallas Zoo offering special deals to encourage riding DART instead of driving to the Zoo

(Dallas, Texas – May 25, 2010).  The Dallas Zoo announced today guests will receive a $2 discount on admission Memorial Day Weekend with a same-day DART pass in honor of the Grand Opening of the Giants of the Savanna.  This discount is currently in place every Monday and Tuesday for guests to the Zoo.

“The Dallas Zoo has its own DART station.  Why bother with traffic when DARTing to the Zoo is an easy, convenient thing to do,” said Gregg Hudson, Executive Director, Dallas Zoo and the Children’s Aquarium at Fair Park.“We are grateful DART is working with us to make the Giants of the Savanna Grand Opening on Memorial Day weekend a huge success.”

  • The Dallas Zoo DART Station is located at the corner of Ewing Avenue and Clarendon Drive and served by the West Oak Cliff segment of the DART Rail Red Line.
  • The Red Line is conveniently located at the following Park & Ride stations all over town: Parker Road, Bush Turnpike, Arapaho Center, Spring Valley, LBJ/Central, Forest Lane, Walnut Hill, Park Lane, Lovers Lane, Mockingbird, Cityplace, Cedars, 8th & Corinth, Hampton and Westmoreland.
  • You can call DART for assistance with planning your trip at (214) 979-1111 or visit their website at: www.dart.org

“The Dallas Zoo is an advocate for conservation, and so is our partner, DART,” said Hudson “If you want to improve air quality, one of the easiest things you can do is to get out of your car.  We’re lucky to have a Dallas Zoo DART station right across from the Zoo entrance, so it’s convenient for families and better for the environment.”
