Dallas Zoo Summer Family Fun Kick-Off

The Dallas Zoo officially kicks off summer with a family fun event filled with animals, entertainment, and dining options.  For music lovers and animal enthusiasts alike, the event, produced in partnership with Kessler Entertainment Group, features Dallas’ own A Hard Night’s Day band on Friday, May 25, from 6 – 9pm.  Advance tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for children (ages 3-11) and are available at www.DallasZoo.com and clicking Buy Tickets.   Members of the Dallas Zoo receive a discount. Lawn seating is limited and guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.  In the event of an advance sell out, walk-up tickets may not be available.

Guests can enjoy an evening filled with live music, animal exhibits, and children’s activities.  Headlining the evening at 8pm is A Hard Night’s Day, a multiple recipient of Best of Dallas’ “Best Cover Band,” with its tribute to the Beatles.  Opening for A Hard Night’s Day is Holt & Stockslager performing songs of Simon & Garfunkel at 7pm.  Beer, wine and festival food will be available for purchase; no outside alcohol will be allowed.

Prior to the bands’ performances, a special presentation of SOAR, A Festival of Flight bird show will begin at 6:30 p.m.  The ZooNorth section of the park, including animal exhibits such as the new Koala Walkabout presented by Kimberly-Clark Corporation, Wings of Wonder, and Primate Place will be open throughout the evening.  In addition, the Lacerte Family Children’s Zoo and the Endangered Species Carousel provide the ideal activities for younger guests.

“We are excited to kick off the summer season this Memorial Day weekend with a family-focused event for members and guests alike,” said Gregg Hudson, executive director of the Dallas Zoo and Children’s Aquarium at Fair Park. “We hope to become the place for families to gather all summer long to enjoy a relaxing evening of animals and music.”
