Dallas Zoo named to TripAdvisor’s Top 10 Percent Worldwide
Jun 13, 2013

The Dallas Zoo has been named one of the world’s best businesses by TripAdvisor, the largest travel reviewing and planning web site.

TripAdvisor awarded the Dallas Zoo its Certificate of Excellence award as one of the top-performing 10 percent of businesses worldwide. The award is presented to businesses that display exceptional hospitality and excellent customer reviews.

To be eligible for the Certificate of Excellence, businesses must maintain a rating of four out of five or higher and have been listed on Trip Advisor for at least a year. The number of customer reviews during a 12-month period is also taken into consideration.

“This award recognizes our staff’s determination to be one of the nation’s best zoos and to provide the best guest experience,” said Sean Greene, vice president of guest experiences for Dallas Zoo Management Inc. “The Zoo has made great strides in recent years, with such excellent new exhibits as the Giants of the Savanna and the Koala Walkabout, presented by the Kimberly-Clark Corp. We have more exciting plans for the future, so if you haven’t visited recently, you haven’t seen the new Dallas Zoo.”

Based on strong reviews, the Dallas Zoo is currently ranked 22 on a list of the top 135 attractions in Dallas. Guests wanting to share their experience at the Zoo can visit www.tripadvisor.com.

The Dallas Zoo made headlines this month by becoming the first in the United States to successfully integrate elephants into the Savanna alongside giraffes, zebras, ostriches and impalas, as found in the wild. At 106 acres, the Zoo is the largest in Texas.
