Led by Tom Maddrey\, photographer\, educator and founder of the Eclipse Photography Institute\, and Cathy Burkey\, staff photographer for the Dallas Zoological Society\, the event begins with a guided tour\, leading participants to animal habitats that offer the best opportunities for photographers.    After lunch\, Maddrey and Burkey will provide practical tips for making your next wildlife session as productive as possible\, covering the equipment and gear that can help make it happen.    During the workshop\, participants review the pictures taken and discuss what makes a "stunning" image. Color\, design\, composition\, light\, shadow\, nuance\, and tone will be covered\, all in the search for those images that move people emotionally as well as intellectually. Students will learn the differences between portraits and behavior shots\, how to set up for a great image\, ethical considerations\, and much more. Finally\, an in-depth question-and-answer discussion will address types of photography\, workflow\, printing\, and more.    Sign up today for this fun workshop and learn what it takes to create stunning images of nature and wildlife.    Date: Saturday\, March 23; 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Reservation deadline March 15)    Cost: $125 for DZS members and $150 for non-members. Guests can enjoy an evening filled with live music\, animal exhibits\, and children’s activities.  Headlining the evening at 8pm is A Hard Night’s Day\, a multiple recipient of Best of Dallas’ “Best Cover Band\,” with its tribute to the Beatles.  Opening for A Hard Night’s Day is Holt & Stockslager performing songs of Simon & Garfunkel at 7pm.  Beer\, wine and festival food will be available for purchase; no outside alcohol will be allowed. DESCRIPTION:Bowl for the beasts and support the Dallas chapter of the Association of Zoo Keepers (AAZK) and wildlife conservation. If bowling isn’t up your alley\, then enjoy two sessions of miniature golf\, laser tag\, or rock climbing using the $10 credit with each ticket purchased. Alley Cats\, at 2008 W. Pleasant Ridge Road in Arlington\, will feature food and drink specials all night. There’s no charge to stop by and visit with the Animal Adventures crew and bid on the special silent auction items that AAZK members and friends rounded up. All proceeds benefit conservation programs such as: Lewa Wildlife Conservancy\, International Rhino Foundation\, and Actions for Cheetahs in Kenya.
