Endangered Species Weekend – Thumbs Up For Wildlife
Join for special activities Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
At the Dallas Zoo, we’re passionate about wildlife and we know you are, too. We’re working tirelessly to save animals from extinction, but the challenges are great and we need your help to succeed. Join us May 20-21 (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) for Endangered Species Weekend. We’ll aim to facilitate 3,000 personal pledges for wildlife conservation through our “Thumbs Up for Wildlife” campaign.
Learn more about our fascinating animals through family-friendly activities at stations across the Zoo. Discover how the Dallas Zoo is helping save elephants, cheetahs, penguins, tigers and gorillas in Africa, as well as the monarch butterfly right here at home. Explore green actions we can all take together on behalf of endangered species and consider a “Thumbs Up” pledge.
This weekend is the launch of the Dallas Zoo’s cellphone recycling initiative. The first 50 guests each day to bring in a cellphone to recycle will receive a free native tree to plant at their home. While supplies last, even those who are unable to bring used technology may be able receive a tree at no cost by learning about deforestation and answering trivia questions throughout the weekend.
The extinction crisis is real and the threats to our animals are great. Our wild and beautiful world needs our attention like never before. We’re working tirelessly to create a better world for animals and save wildlife from extinction and hope you’ll join us in making a pledge.
