Pot-bellied Pig
SCIENTIFIC NAME:
Sus scrofa domesticus
PROFILE:
Pot-bellied pigs are a breed of domesticated pig. They can make great pets due to their small size, lack of shedding, and tough skin, which resists fleas and parasites. Pot-bellied pigs are intelligent animals, able to be trained to the same extent as a dog. However, they can also be quite mischevious! It takes much work and dedication to keep them as pets, but it is worth the effort for those willing to take on the challenge. Come visit our pot-bellied pigs at the Farm in the Lacerte Family Children’s Zoo!
