PROFILE:

The fossa is agile and an excellent leaper and climber! Fossas have keen vision, hearing, and smell. As Madagascar’s largest mammalian carnivore, this muscular, powerful predator hunts by day or night, using the stalk-and-pounce method. They are particularly specialized to feed on lemurs. You can find our fossa often sleeping in back of the habitat or perched among the branches.
