PROFILE:

In the wild, green woodhoopoes search for small tree cavities in which to build their nests. Spend a few minutes watching our green woodhoopoe and you may see her hiding out in small, dark spaces such as purses or camera lenses; she can be very creative. This social bird is a staff favorite at Travis & Zach’s Birds Landing in the Lacerte Family Children’s Zoo.
