The colorful blue-and-gold macaw is a social bird with a high level of intelligence and ability to learn behaviors. Positive reinforcement training benefits our animals by creating a trusting relationship between the animal and trainer. Training behaviors allow staff to check an animal’s health without medication, highlight natural behaviors on cue, and handle or transport animals comfortably.
