Zoo studbook keepers play matchmaker for the animal kingdom

Our zookeepers not only care for animals, but they play matchmaker, too! Seven of our employees volunteer their time as Association of Zoos and Aquariums studbook keepers outlining family trees and recommending breeding
pairs for every AZA-accredited zoo.

Dallas Zoo smashes attendance record for seventh year in a row

Once again, we’ve set an all-time attendance record, for the seventh year in a row! In the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, we welcomed 1,074,182 guests, an increase of 4.4% over last year’s record.

All-Zoo baseball squad ready for MLB playoffs

The Texas Rangers begin their quest for the World Series today, and in honor of their great year, we’ve assembled the best-of-the best baseball squad made up of Dallas Zoo residents. (Maybe after they win
the Series, we’ll challenge them to a friendly.)

Summer Camp 2016 is one for the books

School has been in session long enough for us to miss our days at summer camp. We packed a full house this year during our WILD Adventures Summer Camp, welcoming 1,103 kids – that’s 100 more campers than last year, with more than 25 sold out weeklong camps!
